Alec Tamas is back in high school and loving every minute of it.

The 29-year-old St. Catharines native and former player and coach with the St. Catharines Athletics at the Junior A and Junior B levels, is coaching with the Saint Francis Phoenix, where he is working as a long-term occasional teacher after beginning with the school as an educational assistant.

“I picked up an LTO back in December; I was coaching the hockey team, and now I picked up the lacrosse team,” Tamas said. “It was a lot of fun. A really good group of kids, and I’m glad I was able to come back and enjoy it with them.”
