
Kaylee Giesbrecht did her due diligence when it came time to researching prospective universities.
The 17-year-old, Grade 12 student at Saint Francis began her research in Grade 10 and then spent a good deal of time investigating the next year as well.
When all was said and done, the St. Catharines native settled on the University of Minnesota and Wednesday put pen to paper to make it official, signing a full, four-year scholarship to row and major in biology beginning in the fall of 2026.
“It is hard. I only did end up going to visit Minnesota but I had so many conversations with so many schools,” she said. “I spent time looking around, browsing, seeing what school would fit me best.”
